What do Volunteers do?
Our volunteers support all the activities that take place during the Festival. There are four major zones in our event:
- Kid’s Zone
- Food & Beverage
- Music Zone
- Arts & Crafts
We also offer free health screening on Saturday and Sunday and there is a 5k/10k run on Saturday. All volunteers receive a complimentary Festival T-shirt.

Types of Tasks
- Help with setup and tear down
- Make our guests feel welcome
- Hand out water during the race
- Direct people to different activities
- Answer questions about what we do
- Collect books for our book drive
- Make sure vendors have what they need
- Keep an eye out for trash cans that need to be emptied
- Pets are allowed but must be leashed
- If you run into a problem, let us know ASAP
What to Expect
The roads will be closed downtown, so please find options for parking here.
Volunteers should come to Volta Space at 116 Person Street to sign in. We want to meet you, thank you, and provide your T-shirt and volunteer name tag.
When we respond to your sign-up email, we will give you the name of a contact person. They will provide your assignment for the day and answer any questions you have.
We will make sure you have copies of the map and any other handouts we think might be helpful. You will receive a voucher to get something to eat during the course of your shift.
Before you start, we suggest you walk around the Festival area to familiarize yourself with what’s going on where.
If you are able to help with set up or tear down – you have no idea how grateful we would be!
